”The floodgates of heaven were opened.” — Genesis 7:11

Procopius of Gaza, explaining this, speaks thus:1 “Accordingly, those think wrongly who imagine heaven [to be] spherical and mobile; for heaven stands immovable, and it is the path of the stars running their course in it.” See what we noted above on this, in the first chapter of Genesis, Annotation 14.
