”Though thou wash thyself with nitre,” etc. — Jeremiah 2:22
Origen, in the thirteenth homily on Jeremiah, expounding this, says that all who sinned after the laver of baptism are to be purged by the fire of the conflagration on the day of judgment.1 See above, Annotation 167.
